The Grateful Thread

I'm grateful for a six day run of no work

I am grateful for my boss who brought me expensive peppercinni chips today.

I am gratefull for the people who love me :kiss:

I am grateful for my blood family as they continue to love and accept me for who I am even if they don't completely like or understand it.

I am grateful to my adopted family for wholeheartedly accepting and loving me right after I started dating my girlfriend, and for being a constant source of love and aid since my move to Georgia. I am especially grateful for the time my adopted mom stayed with me in the hospital when my own mom was too sick to leave North Carolina.

I am also grateful for all of the wonderful animals that have been and are in my life.

Today I am grateful for spending my day with my friend, her daughter, and that I didn't have to be anywhere or do anything or be with anyone I didn't want to.

I'm grateful for opportunities to practice things I've learned over the years. I guess I'm not doing too bad, after all.

I'm grateful the grateful thread is outpacing the rant thread.

Grateful for a comfortable, warm bed to lay awake in at 3am.

I am grateful that NASA chooses to release images like this:



It kind of looses the effect when it's not blown up to the full size of your computer monitor, but to give you some perspective, most of the things you see there are galaxies. Not stars in our galaxy, but entire galaxies, each one consisting of millions of stars. The vastness of the universe never ceases to amaze me.

Also, some of the longer stretched out looking galaxies are actually normally shaped but are distorted due to gravitational lensing, where the mass of the closer galaxy actually causes space and light to warp around it. :woohoo:
