OB1Shinobi wrote: also to Kit: i think it was cool that you took the time to find all those verses

i dont think it solves the bigger issue, but it surely couldnt hurt, and maybe it could help, and it was a nice thing to do anyway

Well.....He did say that she only believes what is in the bible, and....quite clearly.....the bible is in favor of Meditation. In fact...It states often that it should be a day and nightly practice. *shrugs*

I want thank everyone of you. I really hope that this wasn't an inconvenience on anyone's part or offend anyone here. I went and mediated for long time and thought on these things all of you had recommend and Kit thank you the mediation verses help a bunch today with Pastor and My Wife. We all got together before I went to work and discuss everything no I will say it was technically two against one during the conversation but it was a fair discussion. The conclusion of it because I don't want to have to elaborate and bore you with the details is a both came to say they don't agree with what I believe but they also understand that I have a right as a human being to believe whatever I want practice whatever I want. My my wife's pastor made the point to my wife that did she marry me for my beliefs or and made the point that if she did that she's in the wrong for doing that because that was back when we were both Christians how I'll be at I still believe that I am a judeo-christian Jedi on this site and this temple but the Pastor recommended that we both connect again like we did when we were first dating and what attracted us to each other and not our beliefs. He concluded by saying that he wished that I continue coming to the church like I have on the basis that there might be a chance that I may decide one day to convert completely back to Christianity. But, my wife feels better and so do I. Thank you everyone and MTFBWY

My fiance and I actually share a lot of beliefs, we just don't share nomenclature.

She frequently tells me that we're all basically Yogis, but I can't help but giggle when I listen to a yoga class and she roles her eyes when I say "The Force." I admittedly make things more difficult on her by quoting the movies more than necessary when describing Jediism.

In reality we get along just fine because at the end of the day we share the same beliefs with slightly different vocabulary. She's seen the site and even started to make an account once but never followed through.

As has been stated, find the similarities, not the differences.

It sounds like both you and your wife are attached to your metaphors.

Christianity, Jediism, the Holy Spirit, the Force. All of these are just words. They are just ideas. They only point to our true nature. Focus on the essence instead of the metaphors.

My wife believes it's a fad and it's a BS that will pass with time.

I let her think that way, and believe there's nothing I can say that will change her point of view, so I'll just keep studying and improving myself in order to show to her with acts, not with words, how good this is for my life.

Also, I never rejected my faith, and that's part of the helpful thing. She thought I was going to abandon everything to become a Jedi only, and that was something that put fear in her heart.

I've been a devout Christian growing up before I questioned the religious Practice and found Jediism. As a Christian theology teaches you that there is only one path to God and that is through Jesus Christ living a life of faith and obedience. Jediism is a belief in the Force. One could say well the Force is like the Spirit of God being every where present. But Christianity says there is only God and apart from him there is no salvation. Christianity teaches that one cannot serve 2 masters. Either they will end up loving one and hating the other. Also it teaches that in marital relationships or relationships in general to not be unequally yoked. So a Christian wife and a Jediism Husband will be considered unequally yoked according to scriptures. Christianity is a stand alone it's own God, faith and practices and any incorporation of other religions is considered an abomination. In the OT Jews incorporated idols according to the place and culture they lived. Then we see God judging them and sending them off to slavery or warfare or some disaster. The analogy is one mountain many paths. According to Christianity is only one path. A narrow road. One Pastor said in a sermon they say one mountain many paths and they are right but there is only one path to the tip of mountain that results in salvation the path Jesus laid. The other paths do lead to God but because they take the wrong path they will meet him with judgement upon them. So honest truth. The whole teaching of Christianity is not compatible with Jediism since Jediism is considered not of God. And true Christianity if taken seriously only has room for God, Jesup and leaves no room for any other belief. So if you are not a Christian...obviously you are going to hell. According to Christianity. Oh and if you are Christian and practice buddhism, hinduism, islam, Jediisn or any other belief you ate going to hell too since worship or belief in another region is considered idolatry. But I'm no longer Christian. So I guess I'll be seeing the rest of you in hell :) lol.
