They are strongly against homosexuality, as evienced by their famous picket signs that read 'God Hates Fags'. They defend this statement with a passage from the bible; "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman. That is detestable." Leviticus 18:22. What do you think of that? If you had to, how would you counter-argue that bible passage?

I checked out the link, and read their about section. From what I read, their actual denomination seems purposefully and passionately intentional toward hate, wrath, violence, and riddance through the form of death, for the sake of promoting their god as all powerful and void of tolerance.

I've once debated as an opposition to them in the past on their boards with dozens of other people and they seem pretty void of tolerance toward any ideas that are even slightly different from their own.

After checking out the link I have to say one can have believes and strong ones at that. but when you go around telling everyone who is in anyway diferent from you, that they are going to burn in hell thats going a little far. also they have no regard for feelings of there fellow man, becaue it says in the bible to love thy neighbor not go around and tell them there going to burn in hell for all eternity.

Having looked at the web site I can only feel pity for anyone with so much hate in their heart.

The views of this church, in my opinion, represent the worst of what can happen when words are taken out of time and context as the words of the Bible have been in this case.

Agreed. Now, from what I have learned about these people, is that their religion revolves around the manipulation of ideas surrounding nit-picked scriptures in the bible. To these people "neighbor" does not define just anybody, but your "neighbor in christ" which means "your fellow believer" only. Their belief closes them into a club in which anybody who refuses to join is an abomination and an enemy. Their definition of tolerance is very different from ours. To them, tolerance is the opposite of love and that "love" assumes rigorous intervention to save somebody from eternal torment in hell.

I offer no argument nor counter to that passage in Leviticus. To do so would be to imply that tennents of christianity are incorrect. It is not my right, nor my place to hold that any belief is superior to another.

Against the misguided, and hateful activism demonstrated by the Westboro Baptist Church I will say that activism more often than not becomes a far grater evil than the one it is set against.
