(05:09:00) steamboat28: I see the "yet" code as a system of dualities, regarding the nature of the Force and our lives. I see the standard code as affirmations that the former (emotion, ignorance, passion, chaos, and death) are illusory.

(05:10:14) Arisaig: agreed with Steam, the first part is usually part of innate programming that we're taught throughout our lives, the latter is what we should aspire to.

(05:11:16) Twigga: I am made of the first halves - emotion, ignorance, passion, chaos and death. Sometimes I need to listen to them to inform me where I wanna go, and what I want to do. Sometimes I need them to be there as a backdrop, but let my knowledge, serenity, harmony and *shrugs* yeah, sometimes the force stuffs too, come out and shine.

(05:13:16) Twigga: That bit - I think - is one of the easier bits. It's about changing perspectives if you're not really seeing beauty, appreciating the beauty of the world.

(05:13:55) Twigga: Here's where gratitude can get in, right under your skin, even when it's not so beautiful.

(05:19:40) Twigga: Yes, this meditation get's easier for me in the third sentence. I have a love-hate relationship with education; but with talking to people; generally being open to PEOPLE and ideas - that's fine... Education learning touches on rationality; the ability to understand - which is important - so I should probably open that love-hate relationship up into just being a "love" one...
(05:20:28) Twigga: The ability to understand is part of that connection. When I say it's "important" - the word underestimaes... important.
(05:21:21) Twigga: "Educuation - to lead out of darkness" - a nice definition I heard (ex ducare)
(05:21:46) Rosalyn_J: Sometimes it can be hard to differentiate traditional education from "learning"

(05:01:26) Rosalyn_J: 2. Jedi maintain a clear mind; which can be achieved through meditation and contemplation. Our minds can become unduly troubled and concerned with the happenings of the world. We must work on overcoming our individual issues through training and diligence.

(05:02:32) Rosalyn_J: I'll be honest in saying that meditation isn't exactly my strong suit
(05:02:48) Rosalyn_J: what is "commonly" known as meditation
(05:03:11) Rosalyn_J: but I like the idea of contemplation. Which is why I started this
(05:03:35) Twigga: I haven't much of a clue as to what counts as Meditation after Watts - seems like Everything counts

(05:13:56) Twigga: I love the "unduely troubled" bit. For me I feel like it's a compassionate "you can rest when you're weary" thing. I like that a lot.

It was over 10 years, well over 10 years, I practised it. It'll be interested to see how it feels again after so long.
