Compared with secular leadership, spiritual leadership is a different ball game all together. It is the responsability of a spiritual leader to move people from where they are to where the Force wants them to be. Once our spiritual leaders have understood the designs of the Force, they should make every effort to move their followers from following their own agendas to pursuing the will of the Force. To fail as such is not to have led. As a result, the hole which has been left by a lack of understanding for the will of the Force is sadly too often filled up by bullying, pressuring, arm-twisting... .
1) Jedi Masters depend on the Force. The work of the Masters is paradoxical because they are called to do something which only the Force can really do. It is not the Master which causes spiritual growth but the Force. The Force, however, works through people as a medium to effect spiritual growth in others.
2) Jedi leaders are accountable to the Force. Just as a teacher has not taught until students have learned, our leaders cannot blame the Church when they don't do what they should do. The leaders cannot make excuses. They have to assume their responsibility of training Jedi \"to become sensitive to the Force`s energy, fluctuations, and disturbances.\"
3) As spiritual leaders the Masters do not only have responsability to Jedi but indeed to all people. The Force is not limited to the Temple but is to found at the station, in the city, at the pub, in jails...you name it it can be found there. Masters have to be mindful no matter where they are or who they are with.
4) Jedi Masters work according to the Force`s plan. And the biggest block to being an effective spiritual Master is the pursuit of personal motivated agendas rather than seeking the Force`s will.
Very often spiritual leaders all over the world assume firstly that the responsibility of determining what should be done goes hand in hand with leadership. Secondly aggressive goals result or fantastic dreams are created! Then thirdly the Foce is invited to consecrate their efforts. This is not what spiritual leadership is about! First comes the will of the Force, only then should an action plan be instated.
