As you know I work in the mental health field, albeit at a different company and position starting tomorrow. Have not read the responses . But a large part of my new position will be working with clients to ensure high rates of med compliance. It is not enough to be prescribed something. You must also take it regularly, as prescribe, for it to have max positive benefit, regardless ifits an SSRI (which it probably is in your case), or lithium (in my vase) or whatever.
Strict med compliance is about the only thing that has allowed me to operate st the level that I am today. Without it, I would almost inevitably decompensate and become sick again. I have seen it over and over and over in the past few years.
So if you remember nothing else I have ever said to you, remember this: the importance of med compliance.

I actually have a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) plan that I find really helpful in this sort of situation. Here is a sample of it: http://www.workingtogetherforrecovery.co.uk/Documents/Wellness%20Recovery%20Action%20Plan.pdf

my initial intent was to be supportive
which is more important than derailing the thread by getting caught up in being right or wrong, peace
