So far, I have successfully started fire with every "element" (whether Classical or Wu Xing) except water. It's next on my list.
My favorite method, however, is the fire piston.

Hello the peoples!
I have not replied to this thread in like forever!
So, this is long overdue.
We recently purchased some property… wait for it… YAY! :woohoo: And there is land! Once we’re all moved in I’ll have a place to practice some of these awesome skilz and get back to doing what I love.
We have also seen so many cool critters on the property. Fire flies to alligator turtles, snakes to hawks, falcons and just about every kind of bird we have in Texas. Also, I have seen lots of tracks. I will post pictures as soon as I can get around to it and keep you all updated.
Have fun, and get outdoors!

Wow I just found this thread and really enjoy it. I will get out some of my kit and post some pictures. I really like fire and shelter craft though I am lacking a good tarp. My two favorite outdoor knives are my mora and my cold steel pendleton light. Other then paracord and my steel cup my other outdoor must is my shemagh its like a bandanna on steroids.
Finally I will share something that I now put in any kit for outdoor use that I have. I buy tampons and candles from the dollar tree, flatten the tampon and melt the candles. Then soak the tampon in the melted wax. Those things are very water resistant, burn for a very long time, and if fluffed up with a knife take a spark from ferro rods just fine. Highly recommend as a fire starter or if you carry a pocket stove even a possible replacement for fuel tabs.
