Is Ren our Anakin Skywalker???!

You see, when I first joined TOTJO, I saw Ren's name in the council area, so I assumed he was a Master - "hello master Ren" was a common greeting from me to him...

Then, I looked over the list of council members and their positions, and I found out that Ren IS NOT A MASTER!!! (Dun Dunn Duunnn!) (He is titled as only the impressive "admin extraordinaire".)


So isn't Ren TOTJO's version of Anakin Skywalker?

Anakin Skywalker: What? How can you do this? This is outrageous, it's unfair. How can you be on the council and not be a master?
Mace Windu: Take a seat, young Skywalker.
Anakin Skywalker: Forgive me, Master.

Of course, he is not the only Councillor not to be a Master, as Damion_Storm is a Senior Knight. So they are both our Anakin Skywalkers :laugh:

But in all seriousness, whether or not you've trained an Apprentice to Knighthood (as per the old criteria for becoming a Master) really has no bearing on whether someone would be a suitable candidate for the Council.

Yes, however, I am questioning their right NOT to be there. After all, they are both too necessary for us to ever let them quit.

You know, I was on the board of directors for quite a while despite not even being a "temple member" at the time (because of the oath)... Before taking it I had to ask for quite a few clarifications, as I was not going to take it lightly... I was on the path quite a few years before joining totjo, and joining (as in becoming a temple member) the way new people join (quick intro, filling app, copy/paste oath) wouldn't have been honest or " authentic ", and I'm pretty big on that....

I'm genuinely curious... what makes you say that going through the process (presumably you meant specifically for you) would not have been honest or authentic? That could refer to many different things.
I feel a story here...

i remember when damion(and jestor) joined, i was close to being a knight back then...and once he became a full member he busted tail to complete everything. even now he does a mountain of work behind the scenes (much like jestor, and ren)...being on the council only seems fair for the amount they've contributed to totjo as a whole...back then i made numerous contributions, but then life got in the way so to speak...otherwise i might be there myself...as it is, one does not have to be on the council to contribute to totjo...
