So I grew up Christian-Mormon and my mother is well aware of my fading loyalties to Christianity over the years. </backstory>

So the other day my Mom asked if I still believe in Christ as God.

I told her that I believe a lot of Christ's teachings as good, but no, I don't believe he was God. She said to me "Have you fallen that far?"

I had to laugh when she said that. It's funny to me because she thinks I've "fallen so far" when I feel like I've been buoyed up by this Temple and the teachings here and their practicality. I feel far from "fallen so far."

Anyway, I guess it wasn't that funny, but I had to chuckle when she said that.

My mom is Baptist, Dad was Catholic...

My parents let me choose my religious path... I was always seeking Dad's approval, so I went with the Catholic outwardly...

Didn't stick though....

I told my mom I was a Jedi, she looked at me and said, "well, OK"...

We discussed it a bit more, and that was that....

Dad and I never really got along.... Till the end, I wish he was still here so I could tell him about this Jedi stuff...

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....

Christianity is the idea of "my way or the high way." Islam is the same teachings and is more accepting until you read the writing after the quran (the prophet muhhamad started to abuse the power of his word in my opinion so I read no more than the quran.)

See Christ is seen as a god in any religion but christianity. He is seen in islam as a prophet but no more than a man. And Judiasm sees him as just a man no connection to their yhwh (yahweh.) So not beleiving christ is god is only seen strange in ONE religion. You haven't fallen and won't fall unless you truly become a evil person. I think it's logical to beleive that Christ isn't god. Here is two reasons:
1) dogs begot dogs. Humans begot humans. Now how is it logical that god had a baby who is just a mortal man? He would be a demi god. He would be the next hercules! Btw not that I am thinking of it if christians believe that they are much like the Greeks who believed Zeus came down and slept with women giving them demi god offspring.
2) Why would the greatest being in the world, beyond all comprehension, become a creation? You build a lego tower and you never want to become a lego tower. You build a castle and you never want to become a castle. It makes no sense for a being that can do literally anything, to step down and become a man out of all things! A MAN! Like he could become things beyond imagination, but he wants to be a mortal weak (ugly according to the bible) man. He has dominion over the whole universes and every creature on this planet and the next! But he wants to be a man who will die painfully. This is highly illogical. God only talks through people and gives themm a divine spark because the people have a stronger connection. Think of Jedis off star wars mediclorian counts (I probably butchered the spelling.) Yeah everyone wanted to become a jedi but only those with "strong connections with the force" could do so. Think of god as the energy of the force and you will see that it is ALL but it is beyond humans, beyond a mind, beyond actions. For if it truly had any true "love" for humans our lives would be so much sweeter. In reality it is everything and looks out for all things, not specifically humans. It is something you must learn for yourself to truly understand and words can't describe it. Now since it lets wars go on and bad things should we through out any sort of reverence? No because it is the reason why you are here and you have the people you love. This is why it is silly to think god would become a human. To lesser itself. See in the star wars idea of jedi Jesus, Moses, Adam, and all those names written in holy scriptures as prophets are "Jedis" for they have strong connections with the "force" and are able to receive guidance such as "jedis" do.

If anybody ever wonders why I use quotes its because all these words can be interchanged with a million others and this is how it relates to Jediism and its not a way to mock but hopefully strengthen your belief systems in it.

So this being said not believing in Jesus being a God is not falling far, but thinking outside of the ideas that were instilled onto you through birth. To do evil in the way you only enjoy when it is done is an act of falling. Thinking logically isn't falling.

I believe the whole point with Christianity's concept of Jesus as divine was so that God could directly experience what it was like to be human. Kind of like the CEO of a multi-national company spending the day working as one of the cleaners. Anyway, that's only the later, Paul-inspired teachings of Christianity. There are schools of thought that believe Jesus claimed not to be THE son of God but A son of God, as we all are.

Large ideas take more than a single sentence.

@Mark
see I see it more likely he said he was a son of god and people misinterpreted it and pushed it along for over a thousand years. To say you are THE son of god is awfully ballsy for ANYBODY (christ or anybody) else to say. I have a booklet hanging around which talks nothinng but discussing how Jesus was not the son. In fact it had quoteswhere he said he was not THE son. I have it somewhere in a box (just moved) but of course like most books its biased because it was a book for recent muslims who are converts from christianity so I even spotted one quuote that was a part of a single verse but not the whole thing, it cut off from dont call me lord but I dont remember the rest of the script off hand tho from the actual bible.

As you "insult" Christians on this site with your views, I can only point out those thoughts which make you look small... and for someone who's been here (on this site) two minutes... wisdom is sometimes limiting your ignorant words....
