I feel like we may as well as legalize it as well as other drugs. We know prices always go up when it is illegal. Drug war doesn't work. It didn't work that last few decades why would it work now? More and more states are legalizing it. There's no point. Just let people use it.

War on drugs sounds like you are doing something good, but it doesn't work in the long run. Such as limiting people's use of weapons and gun control sounds good but doesn't.

But with hemp, making it illegal doesn't even sound good. It has hundreds of uses both for textiles and medicine. No one dies or overdoses from it or acts crazy when they do smoke it.

If we feel that we need a government to hold our hand and decide what is good for our own bodies and which isn't we're lost. It is our choice. Even if Hemp was harmful it is still our choice in the end.

No government has a right to tell you what you can and can't do with your own body. Nor do they have the right to think it's illegal for wanting to defend yourself, i.e. with guns, knives, swords ect.

Governments don't do this unless it is to their advantage. It isn't incompetence, they know exactly what they are doing.

In 1545 the Spanish brought marijuana to the New World. The English introduced it in Jamestown in 1611 where it became a major commercial crop alongside tobacco and was grown as a source of fiber.

By 1890, hemp had been replaced by cotton as a major cash crop in southern states. Some patent medicines during this era contained marijuana, but it was a small percentage compared to the number containing opium or cocaine. It was in the 1920’s that marijuana began to catch on. Some historians say its emergence was brought about by Prohibition. Its recreational use was restricted to jazz musicians and people in show business. “Reefer songs” became the rage of the jazz world. Marijuana clubs, called tea pads, sprang up in every major city. These marijuana establishments were tolerated by the authorities because marijuana was not illegal and patrons showed no evidence of making a nuisance of themselves or disturbing the community. Marijuana was not considered a social threat.
As a new member to the Jedi Order, my stance on this may not be as well seen by others, but I'm also a student who has spoken to many doctors that have concluded that there is no significant data that shows that marijuana is as harmful as drugs such as cocaine, heroin and meth. further long-term studies should also be done to know if there are any real risks in using it.
