Hello all,
I thought I'd start a thread with quotes from Buddhist and related authors and hey, here it is! To kick this off I have a quote that's been attributed to none other then Albert Einstein. To me this quote exemplfies why I feel Zen training is essential to a Jedi's training. There is to me a very large Zen component contained in not only the teachings but also in the type of spiritual calm we wish to attain though our training.
\"Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity.\" ....
~Albert Einstein~
I wonder what he would of thought of Jediism?

I read a list of people on one site that 'claimed' they were 'Jedi'
Einstein was one of them but many other famous people including presidents and other famous scientists and artists.
I do agree that a big part of Jediism is very much connected to Zen and Buddhism generally.
Sorry I've no quotes off-hand to share, though I know there are some in various Bushido books I have

\"I would like to beg you, dear sir, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, some day in the far future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.\"

Got two good ones, back-to-back here:
\"Morning, sickle in hand,
Noon, roaming the forest, gathering wood,
Now the evening moon, quietly shedding light on the path I walk.\"
(Commentary on the Nansen 'sickle' koan)
\"One must ask children and birds how strawberries and cherries taste.\"

Today's calendar page. I REALLY like this one:
\"People imagine enlightenment will make them incredibly powerful. And it does. It makes you the most powerful being in all the universe - but usually no one else notices.\"

'It is broken,' said the assistant.
'In that case,' said Yang-uan, 'bring me the rhinoceros.'\"
