They used to have greater importance, but nowadays people don't bother with them so much, though some still like the idea, and associate themselves, with a rite
Just know that it isn't a requirement and that you shouldn't feel the need to have one
(Rite was the old name for 'Special Interest Group' - they are the same thing)

Currently it's FaQ 21, but I'm in the process of rewriting them
It's a good point to bring up regularly though, because sometimes they can seem a little confusing, as policy changes over time etc...

no it wasn't.... rite is the ritual you follow
nobody belongs to a ritual, they follow it
as I follow this, I count myself a follower of this rite as a christian jedi
