Not everyone treats an oath with the seriousness it should imply.
I understand the point though. But someone who is not here to genuinely participate can easily take the oath, become a member and continue on with their agenda.
And we are back where we started.
Edit - Not to mention that I feel this could also further widen the gap between other Jedi communities and our own. We could not expect them to take an oath that is potentially not in alignment with their chosen group.
Precisely, wouldn't be easier to kick out members causing the drama to begin with, three warnings and your out kind of rule?

Do you mean based on previous form? What actual effect did revoking member status have before now?

If people have complaints please offer potential alternative solutions that will resolve the issues you have. If we make a change and people complain... but no one offers a different solution... then what exactly does one expect to happen?

Just did so, the suggestion with the three strikes rule, and ban them, permanently. It'll get the message across...

Akkarin, I have already done that.
The truth is this, there are ALWAYS going to be trouble makers and people we don't get on with. If they are that problematic and inclined to ignore the requests to adhere to rules and common civility, then what are they doing in our Temple in the first place.
Entry is a privilege, we should treat it as such.
We already have members only areas. Why create more forums? And more discomfort by making a very very clear Them vs Us announcement. Simply encourage people to use the members areas for topic that they don't want " outside" discussion on.
And perhaps we should put more effort towards helping those who ARE uncomfortable work through why and to resolve their frustrations.
I think this has been handled poorly, and is not to the benefit of our Temple in the long run.

Having a moderator to approve the first couple of posts from guests which is a good part of changes.
The three strike rule Zenchi mentions is good
Even having the rule that you can be cut of from posting if behaviour continues for so many days is also good but rule for everyone maybe.
