Traditionally, You!

by thomaswfaulkner

I want to welcome everyone to a brand new year. Congratulations! As we transition away from the merry holidays and begin our year anew, I encourage you to make the most of your life this year. At this very moment, people all over the planet are sitting down at their tables and stressing out about what they need to change about themselves in order to fulfil their new year’s resolution.

I’m sure you thought about what you’d like to accomplish with the upcoming year. Do you want to finish school? How about strive to find that better you? Is there that special someone that you want to share your feelings with this year? Or do you simply want to spend more time giving back to the TOTJO community?

Whatever your plans may be, I wish you the best of luck as you move forward and encourage you to fulfil that happiness within your heart. The New Year symbolizes a fresh start for those who have identified that stagnation. It is that motivational fuel that ignites that passion to pursue that positive change in your life and the lives of those with whom you surround yourself with.

But with this New Year’s Tradition, we often hear the tales of the broken resolutions and the sadness that follows when people lose their fire; but through our understanding of the Force, we realize that the world is realized in the terms of balance and harmony.

Please read this following paragraph and then take some time to close your eyes and reflect inwardly.

“As we form our resolutions out of the fire and spirit caused by the turning of the new year, may we be reminded to not only look towards ourselves for comfort and support, but to our family, friends, and members within our community. Look up at the top of this page and look at the number of views this message has and reflect on the nature of the person on the other end of the screen and how they are receiving this message. As we go through the new year, let us be reminded of all of the people who have their goals and also make it our resolution to build up the people who surround us. Each and every person has the desire to be happy and has something that they wish to achieve in life. It is our obligation to be the person who holds steadfast in our commitment to others and encourages them to achieve their dreams. And as you do this, know that you are nurturing a positive growth much bigger than your physical self. To love and show support to your peers does not require love and acceptance in return. And through your actions, you are making this world a better place.”

As the time from the new year passes, reflect on the actions that you took to empower the growth of others and use that fuel to motivate you to stick to your commitments. Treat yourself kindly if the goals you once had are no longer of an interest to you. Change is inevitable. Look deeply within yourself and learn how to effectively discover and craft your new purpose and continue to serve. Love without reservation and share your good times with others, regardless of its size.

Smile, and may your happy New Year be filled with amazing days.
