I've been sort of obsessed with Dune as of late, after watching the new movie. I started reading the book, and I came across something very interesting that I think we might all learn from. Here's the quote:
Think you of the fact that a deaf person cannot hear. Then, what deafness may we not all possess? What senses do we lack that we cannot see and cannot hear another world all around us? What is there around us that we cannot—
The thought sort of gets cut off there, but the point is clear: what senses are we
not using? Our general practice here seems to be that we cultivate senses through the Force that we normally wouldn't have. But it never occurred to me that we were born with senses that were shut off, maybe inaccessible, unless somehow turned back on. It fascinates me that there very well could be a sixth sense, or seventh, or eighth, etc.
What are your thoughts on this?
