Corey, it is very unfortunate that your fiance is facing these problems, but it is a grand thing that she has you by her side to face them with her. Be her the Earth for her strenght, be her Fire to cleanse her body, be her Water to calm the tides and show her a bright horizon, and be her Air so give her the breath of life and help her mind to focus on the love you each share.

I know staying positive is a very complicated thing to do. Coming from someone who has had many medical issues, much of which were life threatening, I know it is hard to stay positive. But having someone who is positive and can give her positive affirmations will help her heal and ease her pain.

My wife and I will pray and meditate for her and you both.

May the Force be with you both.

My better half had hyperthyroidism and, after over 6 years taking things like neomercazole (Carbimazole) a few times a day, we solved it by completely removing gluten. Bizarre but true.

She also avoids dairy and a few other things, but its the gluten which cannot be reintroduced in any amount.

I doubt it's a solution for all hyperthyroidism sufferers, but it might be worth a try. It is not easy though as the diet becomes very restrictive (but healthier).... and if eating gluten again it can take only 7 days to rally itself into the danger zone as TSH plummets and T3 and T4 go through the roof.

You probably already know this, but for those that do not, TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and is the signal from the brain to control thyroid production levels to keep things in balance. When the thyroid becomes overactive and levels of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) get too high in the body, the brain reduces the TSH to signal a decrease in production. Unfortunately the overactive thyroid seems to ignore the signal.

We were given three options; 1. surgically cut out the thyroid and supplement as required for the rest of life, 2. radiation to kill off the thryoid and supplement as required for the rest of life, or 3. medicate.

We chose option 3 and luckily found a naturopath GP who had enough genuine interest in actually solving the cause rather then treating the symptoms.

The specialist's wouldn't have a bar of it but they cannot argue against the bloodwork for years before hand and the years afterwards. I think they were more miffed they lost her 'business' then happy she was no longer suffering from it. So its a relief that she has not had any symptoms nor drugs in nearly 10 years!!!!

It really takes a toll on the relationship at the best of times, so my thoughts and prayers are with you both and your family. As always my PM box is open.

I am sorry all.
Been hectic lately.
Still working on my journal over in the journals section.
We are alright.
She is doing a little better.

Me and her were forced to move out of where we were at.
So we packed all our stuff 3 nights ago. In my car, over filled. And drove 2 hours to my moms.
