I wonder what would happen if instead of inverting the rotation one were to install a gear that changes the sensitivity in either direction. One could even do this with different ratios to normal sensitivity and conduct an experiment to see how much it affects riding proficiencies in the uninitiated on average as a function of the relative sensitivity. And what would that tell us about those automated motor skill pathways? This is exciting. Thanks!
Also I like the message. The world doesn't care much what you think of it, and you can only see it how you see it, not as what it is; so we have to keep all our glasses and filters in check lest we overestimate ourselves and fall from the machine we're riding as a result.

We martial artists spend so much time practicing moves, when we learn, that when we try to try the "non-dominat side" (for trying to stay well rounded) we realize how hard it is, lol...
When I started watching, I thought, "I can do this", then, I thought about it further... lol...
And, whenever I think about stuff like this, I have thought of a few of our (yours and mine) and a fw with some others Ive butted heads with, lol...
Love your breakdown, that said it all, lol...

Yes, very interesting, though I'm unsure that his three conclusions follow from the bike riding example.
Random Thoughts:
This exercise supports the idea that we think with our whole body - embodied mind.
This example has some application to the experience of missing limb syndrome.
Our ability to ride any kind of bike is dependent on vision and body memory.
This example has less to do with knowledge and understanding and more to do with perception.
Agreed, how we perceive the world is learned; as is how we think of it.
'Seeing is thinking' is a metaphor.
