Well obviously celebrations are way too early, however MPs are planning to hold a vote on calling for a referendum regarding the UK leaving the EU. We'll have to wait until may 2013 at which point there will undoubtedly be some delays, however, with a bit of luck, patience will be rewarding.

Quite understandable. I wish Germany had the sense to do the same. First Greece, then Italy and now Spain and Portugal, it seems like the tax payers here are working only for these.

Now that would be nonsensical for germany to do such a thing. Beneficial for the EU if the UK were to leave. And the UK would probably manage something with the US and commonwealth to remain a moderately rich and powerful nation.

I want to leave the EU and I know that a lot of other people do as well.
But people always think that assumes that we're never going to speak to any European country ever again! lol
What makes perfect sense is to leave the EU but to remain a trading partner. Get rid of the politics and just keep the economics.
It makes more sense, because we're viewed as being a grumpy neighbour. So better to just become a separate political state and be a friendly economic neighbour.

I would certain vote to leave the EU - the UK has handed over way too much in terms of cash and politically (laws etc) and I suspect the government of the UK can very much feel the strong agner the general populous of the UK feel towards the EU.
Its a damned good job the didnt become a member of the eurozone otherwise it would have been and even more expensive members club than it already is.
Just to clarify for those who dont know. being a member of the EU does not mean a country has also adopted the Euro currency, countries which are now using the Euro are called Eurozone members and there are countries who have joined and withdrawn from this.

Well that made me laugh.
This for example was on the news today:

Not too mention that the EU's subsidisation of farming, the CAP, has helped keep millions of 3rd world people in poverty.

farming subsidies help farmers stay in business... The true culprits are the idiots who send free food. Whether individuals or governments.
