New Site Issues/Problems/Suggestions

Don't think there is already a thread for this. If there are any issues/problems please post in here. You can post suggestions too, but please don't post essays, because this thread needs to be easily readable. And just because you say something here or want something does not mean it will be implemented. Indeed some of the changes which will probably be implemented you may not even like, but we've been through such transitions before and people get used to it in the end, so when it comes to certain changes it will be an exercise in acceptance.

Think everyone's been posting potential hickups here...

I noticed when replying to another thread that I had someone elses signature quotes in my signature area as well as one of my own long since deleted quotes. I checked my profile and its as it should be, but where replaced when I posted.

I'm not able to add screen-shots so I'm going to describe this as best I can.

When you enter a thread, such as this one, at the top there are links: Index, Recent Topics, New Topic, No Replies, My Topics, Profile, and Search.

Clicking on "Profile" takes you to an entirely different profile layout that, if you have been a member of TotJO for a while, will have information from several years ago. However, when you click to "edit" that profile, it takes you back to the regular profile and you are unable to make changes - such as your signature, birthday display, etc.

Do we not have a clock any more ? It's okay ... but it was really useful (to me anyway).

At least a dozen offline articles many of which also used to be directly linked to on any page.
How to use this site article pages will need updating.
No member number or join date on profile. (needed for the application process, though members can view member number by looking at the URL of their profile)
No Donate button.
Post preview button not working.
Can't view list posts made by members (previously accessible by profile).
No rank bars.
Profile picture boxes are oval shaped (though I actually like this )
Smaller TotJO symbol on front page isn't showing (neither is the one in the FAQ).
We have both a forum profile and a Forcebook profile which is a little odd.
File attachments not working.
"When viewing a thread, the top member bar changes - The profile Link moves over and takes you to an older version of profiles.... "
Send PM button is hidden under the "More" underneath profile picture.

Can't turn off chat entirely.
Some members can't post in Jediism section (guests aren't meant to be able to post in there).
The line separating post from signature isn't very distinguishable.
We lost the earthy colour scheme
Emoticons are larger than text so create weird line spacing issues (this also happened on previous site).
Quoting doesn't insert an extra line so if you only press enter once it ends up on the previous line of text (error present in previous iteration of site).

Yeah I know but it is useful for keeping things organised.

If you are a moderator or above and have access to the admin forum, please append all bugs and suggestions to the thread I have created for this, to keep it all together.

Somehow I find myself unable to upload a cover. I have tried .jpg and .png both of small size, it would not upload into the cover as well when I tried it out.

I ran into an issue with the PM system. At first I thought it was my phone, but I switched to the computer and it's still there.

I can't seem to send a PM because the "Subject is Missing" (I'm writing in subjects)
