How do you greet someone?
Just say hi and raise your hand, shake hands, or do you even bow?
I bow, in the simple way that i close my right hand and put it under my left hand and bow

Say "hey", maybe a handshake, maybe a little nod.

That very much depends on who that person is and what my relationship is with them. Strangers whom I am being introduced to I will smile, shake their hand, and say hello. I shake hands because that is what most Americans are used to and even people who come here from other countries are told to expect that. Casual acquaintances usually get a smile and a hello. Co-workers tend to get either a hello or a hey depending on familiarity. Good friends get an ironic Wussup? My best friend can get any variety, most times it's a movie line of some kind asking whose at the door. A favorite of mine is what Bilbo Baggins says at the beginning of The Fellowship when Gandalf first arrives. "I don't want any more visitors, well wishers, or distant relations." My fiance usually gets "You! There! Come here! Hug me!"

NOTE:
I belive the answer to this question will depend on not only the individual but also the culture of the individual.
Some cultures have other social codes then others.

I almost never bow when I meet somebody or greet somebody. It's generally a howdy and a hand shake.
but, I will bow MOST times when I say good bye to somebody, especially when I leave a room.

I'm Brazilian, so I generally follow Brazilian etiquette. Here, the women generally define the form of greeting. I personally prefer to just wave my hand and say hi, or to shake hands. Here, though, it's really common for women to greet both men and women with a light cheek-to-cheek kiss, and it's considered impolite for a man to refuse being greeted that way, so when someone comes, I always try to offer my hand, but if they come to the cheek kiss, then I have no other option.
When I'm leaving, the way is generally the same, firm handshake or a cheek kiss.
