In relation to school, I'm coming from a different perspective. I was going to college to become a teacher. It wasn't until I saw the horrible condition of the education system that I decided I could not stand by and push thoughts and impressions on young people just learning their own way of thinking. I removed myself from the program and followed music
A choice I am proud of to this day.
In relation to BSing. I ask if you had any other choice? I enjoyed the Great Gatsby, but I understand those who don't. My first time through I skimmed most of the pages looking for action, finding none. The second and third time, however, I found nothing but life lessons and experiences made more entertaining by my experiences. My advice is to search out that kernel of light that exists in all things, boring or not. There may have been a message in those pages that the writer of the spark notes wouldn't have found as it was intended only for you.
My toughest subject was math, admittedly I usually BSed my way through it. Acing tests but skipping the homework left me nearly failing a few of my math courses. Just know that time changes all things, you may look back in fifteen years and decide to try something over. For example, I now do equations for fun. It's kind of like my own kind of sudoku, I suppose.
There is something to be said about gaining skill in BSing, however.
