What's everyone's favorite news source?
This will, obviously, be different by location so maybe its a stupid question. My coworkers and I, here in the US, all like to read newser . I find that it does a good job of finding obscure, funny news as opposed to just depressing news. That's all I really see in other news sources and I hate that there's that much negativity (and I realize the irony that I said that I hate the negativity) in our media.
I love funny and happy news and wish there was more of it.

Nature.
The birds tell me when someone is coming. The plants tell me where water is. The insects tell me what the weather is going to be like. The Squirrels tell me how the winter will be and the migrating flocks tell me when to start getting things ready for the changing season. The stars tell me when it is and where I’m going. And the trees tell me what happened.
But I’m assuming that is not what you’re talking about.
I don’t trust any of the media really. They all have their own opinions, views and objectives. If I want to know what’s happening where, I talk to people from that area.

The daily show with jon stewart and the colbert report.....because they show both sides of a story before making fun of it, that way everyone knows what they're laughing at....most other news sources are biased...
Warning: Spoiler!
There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

I don't typically read the news and if I do, I take it with a huge grain of salt. They really are heavily biased even between US news, and all I want are the facts so I can make up my own mind. A friend of mine I met on a deployment likes to read a popular Middle-Eastern publication (I don't remember what it was.) But at the time, the US news was reporting a successful strike against a terrorist training camp. The Middle-Eastern publication reported on the same strike. Stating that the US attacked a civilian village, killing innocent people.
*shrug* as the saying goes, "There's two sides to every story, and the truth is somewhere in the middle."
So I tend to read the science stuff instead.

Same here... If I do read the news I read the Times (but not online...paywall)
I find though that Twitter is a better place to get a feel of what is actually going on
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

I like to get a diverse take on what's going on in the world, so I read news reports from all around the globe (usually from news outlets rather than blogs, but I mix that up too). Most of the time, I'll simply navigate to Google, type in a topic, and click the "News" button. That way I'm able to read about a subject from various perspectives. I also read Danish news, but that's essentially a practice I began to keep up on my language skills.
I will admit to enjoying (and sometimes wasting hours at a time watching) The Young Turks on YouTube, as well. I'm not sure TYT commentaries can reasonably be considered news all of the time, but in their own way the hosts do often get to the core/source of issues and speak truths that the majority of news organizations tend to circumvent. Plus, they can be pretty damn funny.

It's fun to scan all the mainstream media and through Google News, then there are the alternative sites like infowars.com and naturalnews.com that pool together articles from all sorts of independent sites and are usually very controversial. Just remember not to get caught up in all of it. Like Campbell said, "It's a wonder, wonderful opera except that it hurts."
