Is your website being blocked?

Filters put on by ISPs in the UK have started to filter sites, some automatically, some depending on settings set by individual users. I think the original idea was to prevent children from having access to stuff like pornography.

Isnt that how all laws do it?

Where I’m certain there are people with evil intent, I believe that the majority of people do things for what they feel is a noble reason. That of course does not mean that they are right or that others will not use these things to their advantage.

In fact, I have found that several people seem to derive wicked delight :evil: from being as evil as they can legally get away with and not suffer reproach. But I have digressed.

An example of what I’m talking about is old muscle cars. The law says that vehicles over a certain age are classified as classics. Because of their age there is no way they can pass current emissions tests which modern cars are subject to. Knowing this, there is a group of muscle car builders that get a vehicle just old enough and “Supe-it-up” to the point where it blows more harmful emissions than any three cars put together. They are within their legal rights. They aren’t technically doing anything wrong. They do have vehicles that boarder on noise pollution and create as much harmful gas emissions as a small power plant, but what can you do? They’re just following their dreams and abiding by the law.

Parents just need to spend more time in their children's life and less time demanding society to do the parents job....if a parent doesn't want a child to experience something, then it's the parent's job to shelter their child from it not society's. Just know the more taboo you make something, the more curious you make others of it...and also know that at some point that sheltered child IS going to experience what you try to keep from them...and when it happens they'll be ill prepared....it's better to be exposed and educated on how to put it in perspective...but too many parents don't want that kind of responsibility....they'd rather pawn it off on society...
