I am grateful for the cooler weather finally arriving.
Makes it so much easier to get things done outside around the house.

I guess even more importantly; I am grateful for the knowledge and skills that were passed down from my father and grandfathers that make it possible for me to be able to fix things and accomplish tasks around the house. And having a house and land to do these things on and with.

There may be days of daunting chores and tasks, but it is a blessing to be in a position where I have the opportunity to tackle them.

Grateful for the stupidity of George W. Bush, so I can silence those fascist right wing Tory/Republicans with lines like;
"Rarely is the question asked; Is our children learning?"

Today I am grateful for routine.

Today, I am grateful for having woken up with a warm place to sleep. To have woken up in a place without the sound of gun fire. To have food and fresh water readily available. To have a job and to continue to live and connect with the people around me.

Today I'm thankful for humbling experiences. It reminds me that I'm still learning, and I've still got a ways to go. Also, it reminds me that we were all new at one point, and that makes me feel more connected to those around me, and helps me be more patient.

I am grateful for modern medicine, despite my doctor's need to poke, prod, grope and stick me during my annual physical.
