As some may know, a large Typhoon hit off the coast of the Philippines last Friday. It is considered to have been one of the worst in history. The destruction is catastrophic where the typhoon made landfall and thousands are deceased and more have lost everything.

Experts say Typhoon Haiyan was about as strong as it could theoretically get when it swept through the Philippines, killing thousands of people and driving hundreds of thousands from their homes

TACLOBAN, Philippines Bloated bodies lie in the streets, in front of houses, on bridges, in the water, wherever the giant wall of water happened to dump them when Typhoon Haiyan hit.
The desperate survivors scrounging for food amid the mountains of debris use cloth to shield their noses from the overpowering stench of rotting corpses. Some relatives have been trying to bury their dead, but in too many cases, there is no one to cart away the corpses littering the city of Tacloban, which was all but decimated by on one of the most powerful storms to ever make landfall.

I am not asking anyone to donate or send aid. I am posting a few links so that we can be aware of what is happening in the world and letting others know that help is being organized. Of course, if we one did decide to send aid in some form, I’m sure there are links to legitimate groups somewhere on one of the pages I linked to.

They are calling it a super typhoon, and the damage is massive by the looks of it. The storm surge seems to have rivaled those bad recent tsunami's elsewhere, and the wind's were about 400km/h (215kts/250mph)!!! With 10,000 reported dead in just one city. I'm sure more accurate details will emerge soon, but the pictures tell a terrible story.
