I get 16. Some of the squares are rotated so they have a diamond look (like in playing cards).

I'm reasonably certain it's 16. The 17 is coming from a tricky one that is easy to count twice. Printing it out and outlining the squares should settle this once and for all.

I found that there are sixteen regular quadrilaterals
. They can be identified in to six categories.
Diagonal - 2
One by on squares - 6
Two by two squares - 4
Three by three squares - 1
Five by five squares - 2
Seven by seven (the entire square) - 1

On second thought...maybe there are only 16. That, or I was in some sort of heightened conscious state when I first looked. :blink: :silly: :lol:
