Love As Defined By Children

Despite putting this in the humour subforum it actually manages to be both funny and astoundingly thought-provoking at the same time.

It's worth clicking on the link and reading all of them, if you have the time. If you don't, here are a few of my favourites...

"When someone says they love you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." (Billy - Age 4)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend you hate." (Nikka - Age 6)

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." (Jessica - Age 8)

And...

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." (Lauren - Age 4)

Thank you for this post, V. Too many times we push aside the views and thoughts of children as being too immature or too fantastic for our world, when in all actuality, children see the world in a way that our filter (some may call it maturity), won't allow us to. Children see the world unadulterated, and are filled with wonder at it. So many people lose that wonder and delight at something so small as a caterpillar (how many of us played with THOSE as children, I wonder). If more people actually paid attention to WHAT children say, rather than HOW they say it, adulthood might just become as wonderous as childhood once was.
