Star Fans UNITE!!!

I'm with ya! I wish all those Twilight girls felt there was something better to aspire to than Bella. Women with intellect and substance are far sexier, to me, than just the garden variety goth permissive vampire wannabees who really just want to be loved. I mean, nerds need to get laid too! I'm all for it! I'm just saying I'd rather a girl be more like Hermione or Padme! Less drama, more action! More mindfulness!

Hehe, topic. I agree, and I think the Twilight movies (I've only seen the first one) represent aspects of the dark side more then anything else. She seems to be willing to suspend logic and let her addiction to his vampire 'charms' dictate her behaviour. As a result I think she just wants to live forever and have special powers and feel the warmth of her own decay. They should represent the downside of the vampire more to push the message that sometimes a change can be permenant and leave you worse off overall. I guess it might be analogous to any habitual behaviour - that on its own it can consume but also given full commitment it can transform the person. She clearly has lost any capacity to step outside her vamp lust, but she seems to be enjoying herself (but at what cost dear Bella).

Well, I thought the downside of being a vampire was to be TORCHED by daylight!!! That WAS the downside.. till Twilight made them SPARKLE!! ... God! Where is BLADE when you need him!! For that matter, where is Anne Rice? Now, those are some awesome vampires!!



I guess if you want to know my full opinion.. They should have made a Vampire Lestat movie instead of burying the Lestat story in the Queen of the Damned movie.. Lestat! Now there was a VAMPIRE!!

Meh. Until they get galaxy class starships and battlestations with cool names like "death star", I will not consider vampires as worthy of my attention. they're just not cool. Plus, long black coats look better on computer hackers turned [strike]resistance fighters[/strike] terrorist insurgents in a world of machines.

LOL Thank you for clearing up the terminology, Ren. I'd hate to think were sympathetic to the plot of any foreign aggressors against this perfect world the machines have created!

I guess if you count the fact that he cares for Ankeel and Enkeel. I'm just saying the Lestat story was WAY more interesting than Interview with the Vampire OR Queen of the Damned! Hell, Lestat was the Queen's chosen lover!

They did have two Lestat movies....

Queen, and Interview.... as always neither were as good as any of the books...

BTW, Lestat did go into the sun, and killed bunches of his children... and rather than die, he had the blood of "those who must be kept" flowing through his veins....

He turned tan... then, crashed to the earth and went to sleep for a long time....

Incidentally, I have read all of the Twilight series....

I believe Lestat's skin was described like a white marbel, smooth, cool to the touch, flawless...

Marble sparkles a bit too....

I think it was actually Ankeel and Enkeel that wandered out into the sun and killed a lot of the weaker vampires, charred a few of the powerful ones! They themselves only sustained a tan! They may have had those movies but NOT a movie from the book The Vampire Lestat.. they buried THAT story in Queen of the Damned.
