I dont think these have been posted (I couldnt find them), the first one is a bit funny, and the second is a political counter to it;

1. VW advert

2. Greenpeace anti-VW advert

VW cars don't pollute much compared to some other manufacturers. And what would greenpeace do to curb Co2 emissions? Install PV panels and use batteries? Those haters don't realize this stuff is more toxic than a soviet nuclear power plant, and, if they had to follow the same EU rules as other electronic items, would be completely banned.

Right? And with catalytic converters they don't pollute much at all. Extremely efficient and well made cars. I could see their protest as based merely on principle.. Like: "How much more do you want from us?!?! When you're ready to buy hydrogen fuel cell come talk to us. We have a gagillion project on hold RIGHT NOW!"

I think VW's opposition might be because peugeot/citroen can now make 2 litre hybrids, 200bhp at less than 100g/km... (that's tax band A for a DS5 which is a luxury car). All the other manufacturers can do in hybrid under 100g/km is 1.8... PSA's Hdi @1.6 (non-hybrid) pollute less than their competitors' (and they were making FAPs years before euro IV came into force). PSA sells their engines to ford, and when you see an audi a3 or a golf pollutes (slightly)more than a (slightly)more powerful peugeot, you can hardly blame them.

I'm a fan of electric cars because they can improve local air quality which means focus can be on improving power generation methods and transmission networks as a seperate thing.

Of course running is best for the environment, this is the superbowl VW commercial which is not so much funny but has Star Wars stuff at the end;
