Amazing, I could actually read this and understand it. But then again I also work full time with dementia and altsheimer patients and still manage to make sense of what is being said or wanted. I personally found it easier to read when I skimmed over it quickly without putting much thought into it. Attitude, openness and gestures are also important in working with those patients. It is situations like this when the conscious or thinking mind actually becomes an obstacle.

Notice anything unusual about this?

Palindrome - is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction...

-A Toyota. Race fast, safe car. A Toyota.
-Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era?
-Yo, bottoms up! (U.S. motto, boy.)
-Step on no pets.

I really like that second one... lol...

I am also not sure of the 55% being claimed in the email Damion shared, but I too could read it... You have to do it fast, if you slow down and concerntrate on the letters, the meaning is lost... Sorta like looking at the world, ain't it?

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....

OMG - now this is weird - I actually found that easier to read than 'proper' writing :D

No joke - but I have a theory as to why - I have has lots of laser surgery on my eyes and as a result my retinas are dotted with scars - so wherever I look I see lots of black and or whte spots - imagine tring to read a newspaper when someone emptied a hole-punch over the page - thats what reading is like for me.

Now I did know that the entirety of the word was not necessarily important - there are other versions with most the letters missing fromt he words but its still readable.

Ive always thought of words as a series of shapes or symbols so maybe this is the key - we are a visual species afterall.

I think this just shows how much time we spend on the internet. Over time, our brains have adapted to lower forms of communications.

To be honest, I think it's down to us reading fast enough to see words and not letters or syllables. immediately identifiable traits are: length, first letter and last letter. With this, there just aren't many words to choose from... Then there's always \"easy to see\" letters in the middle, vowels, wich indicate what the word sounds like.
I learned to read with the syllable method, and I just checked, when i read words just come in one go, not syllable after syllable.
