that would be a good multi purpose toy...though i would probably want a cockpit cage of somesort for safety if it flips over. i'm sure u.s. customs would want that plus more safety features....which of course would take away from the fun factor...otherwise simply a brilliant creation...

Given that this thing is also technically a 'powered aircraft' - does this guy need a pilots cert to use it ? ;)

i think it would still fall under the hobby craft category...i don't know about other states/countries but in florida hobby craft are basically go-carts with wings and due to the very low altitude they reach they don't require a pilots license, but they require a permit...can't remember what it's called though...

well - if it flies and aint a spitfire - its gets shot down here :D

Im sort oaf assuming that perhaps it depends when in Oz this person trials his toys - if its somewhere in the middle of the outback - miles from anywhere and flight paths etc - he may well not need a ticket or whatever.

Im sure in the UK tho he'd need certs etc

Still quite a good invention tho (his passenger has some nerve too :D)

$17K (oz bucks) i believe is the cost - now that to me is a BARGAIN

think about it - a half decent powerboat costs more than that - same for a car and motorbike - let alone a flying machine

for $17K - you get the works and no trailers etc to mess with either ;)

It wont be long b4 someone tries to travel around the world in one of these ;)
