Roll your eyes and mumble 'here we go again'

The following is a quote by someone in regards to the new film avatar - ie people 'think' they are Na'vi now (like some think they are fictional jedi or marines from aliens etc)

\"It's so hard I can't force myself to think that it's just a movie, and to get over it, that living like the Na'vi will never happen.\"

there are many others that are claiming the movie to be racist, anti-military, pro green-party....they should just give it a rest ....it was a movie....a good movie, with no underlying motives....he wrote it long before the current war, and had to wait for technology to catch up with what he had envisioned....

sorry ryu but you dont seriously believe that stuff about waiting for technology to be able to make a movie?

What did lucas have when he made the 1st starwars? Lucas didnt have the tech - so he made it - on a shoe string too.

Ive not seen the movie but I know i will just accept it for what it is - a movie

if some people believe what they see - well, why does no one scream animal abuse for shooting king kong?

anyway - if folk want to live like the na'vi - then good for them - but given its something like -12 in the UK at present - theyll soon run back indoors :D (and how do you de-ice your dragon?)

I have to agree Master Kana. lucas created star wars from cardboard boxes pretty much in comparison to today's tech.

true but lucas didn't use any motion capture in the original trilogy....the cgi in avatar is seamless with live action which was hard to pull off 10-12 years ago....on the other hand the technology they use in the movie has been around alot longer then the technology they used to make the movie

Lucas did it the hard way - cine-film and home made models - and a few marker pens and alot of patience - something to be learned from that process ;)

even in the newer trilogy lucas still used alot of old tricks...the podracing arena was a scale model on the wide views and all the people were matchsticks....you make do with what you've got...

for the most part many modern filmmakers are spoiled and lack that ingenuity that lucas used to spawn pixar and thx
