I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful to anyone and if you took it that way I apologise. What I found funny, was the interplay between each reply.
I believe Jesus did ascend but I still found this funny. Have a weird sense of humor, not apologising for that!

I think many are over-thinking this a little too much. Granted I understand that the need to respect other religions is very important, but so is having some humility. Personally I find the picture quite funny, and while I don't find the Jar-Jar poo thing with the TOTJO symbol funny, that has nothing to do with the fact that Jediism is my chosen religion. In fact many here are Jedi second and another religion first. Which is good for them. It's like the fact that I think Dragonball and Dragonball Z are the greatest thing mankind has ever created, GT not included, but I also find Team Four Star's Dragonball Abridged series hilarious. Just because you respect something, doesn't mean you can't poke fun at it. Just don't intentionally degrade something because you don't agree with it. :silly:

I have to say when Peter Griffin in Family Guy spoke of becoming a Muslim because he could shout "Admiral Ackbar" all day, I couldn't breathe for laughing at it.
I don't always find family guy funny, they take some things beyond satire, but I didn't think I was laughing at the Muslim faith, I was laughing at his incorrect interpretation of it.
I'd say that this falls into the same category, look at it from the point of view that if we seen someone "Ascend" today we would wonder what the hell is going on, when back then it was "must be god".
(which would lead me to presume that they were very 'ST' back in the biblical days).
Why is it offensive to say that he may have been abducted by aliens, hell perhaps Jesus could fly... we do after all think he was an early Jedi right... perhaps he figured out how to use the force.
I understand the original intention of the "offensive" comment, but surely you can't expect us to walk around like we have a stick up our backsides.. Jediism is fun, and alas this IS the humour section

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Part of the seduction of most religions is the idea that if you just say the right things and believe really hard, your salvation will be at hand.
With Jediism. No one is coming to save you. You have to get off your ass and do it yourself - Me

I was going to post a clip from "Father Ted", which is hilarious, but the only one's I could find were a little profanity filled.
I'm not sure if this is a show that you get over the pond, so might be worth a look on youtube if you are into religious satire and fancy a giggle.
