Comment: SOTT can't confirm this story or the research it suggests took place, however, we have wondered on many occasions, what is the use of hair and why so many legends refer to hair as being a source of strength, from Samson, to Nazarenes, to the Long Haired Franks.
I think that explains it... I have run across this before and have never found any evidence this is even remotely true.

Besides that, what do you think about the idea itself? Love to hear opinions!

Well Aqua, I think its a fascinating sci fi concept. I used to read a book series called Deathlands about a post apocalyptic world full of mutants. One of the lead characters was a girl that had semi-intelligent prehensile hair. She used her hair to sense her world as a 6th sense and when she was in danger it would wrap itself around her head and protect it.
Cool stuff but beyond that the articles claims are pure woo woo.

Hair is not an extension of the nervous system and cannot be characterized as “exteriorized” nerves or antennae. Hair is dead tissue that has no metabolism and hair does not "emit energy". The "Kirlian photography" they talk about merely shows a corona discharge from any conductive object. In this case the head itself.

I was about to say, where's the research to back some of this up... Anecdotal evidence isn't really evidence.
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Thank you for your words, but this is not about evidence. Just about the idea, to get a interesting talk. See it positive! Not every talk has to be backed up to the core to make it enjoyable right? .. .. I hope
