I'd like to expand my martial arts training and have recently run across JDKlessons.com. As there are no Jeet Kune Do training facilities within 500 miles of me, I thought this may be an option. Does anyone have any experience with the training program? Was it worth the investment?
Any help is much appreciated.

I have no experience with that site but I do have a lot of martial arts experience. From that I can say that I've never encountered video training that was worth the prices that they are asking. My recommendation is get some of the books from Bruce Lee (although some are compiled after his death from notes of his they found, still good though). Stuff from Dan Inosanto is great too. Get a few books and maybe a few cheaper videos.
If you aren't going to be trained in person (I understand that pain as there are no JKD schools near me either) then you don't want to spend that kind of money. That kind of money should really only go to an in person instructor who can correct mistakes and offer more individualized guidance. Books and videos will only ever offer a base on which to start and you shouldn't have to pay through the nose for a base.
May I recommend finding a good instructor in Muay Thai Kickboxing? A good kickboxing program (one that isn't a cardio class but that is actually teaching you how to fight) will cover some of the same ideas and is usually easier to find. You might also try Wing Chun (in a variety of spellings) though I've had less luck finding good schools for that as well.
In the end though, remember that all we can offer is advice. You must do what you feel is best for you. Good luck my friend.

I would try not to fixate on JKD. See if you have as Goken said a Muay Thai School, or even just a boxing school(JKD borrows heavily from western boxing, not just in striking, but in foot work) or any other art that incorporates sparring. Judo, BJJ, Sambo, cetain karate disciplines, etc.
You need that live resistance regardless of the art you choose and while I have seen some be successful with online training, that is not the norm. Even then, I am sure a skilled teacher could take them farther.

Appreciate the replies.
First I want to apologize for the typo. JKD not JDK. Sometimes our impatience gets the best of us.
Second, I had trained in Muay Thai for a little over a year and really enjoyed it. It is a great alternative and something I will look into training in again. Sadly, however, my wife and I moved to the middle of nowhere and the only martial arts school close to us (within 400 miles) is a TKD school geared towards kids. Think McDojo. Also, I have a little guy at home and do not necessarily have the flexibility in my schedule to go to a TKD class at this time. So what I am thinking is I would like to build on my previous experiences with a mixture of martial arts trainings at home for the next year or two until my wife and I move our family again. Amateur Boxing, Muay Thai, and JKD are all options I'm exploring.

EDIT
i wrote this before i read your responses above
the gracies have a jiu jitsu distance learning program
i dont know what it cost but the quality of instruction would be as good as anything (and better than most) that youll find in terms of "at home" courses
also, title boxing has an at home program which is less than 1000 and at the end of it youre qualfied to be a trainer with focus mitts and boxing workouts - youre also required to out together a small class in order to demonstrate your competance
it doesnt sound like much but it gives you the opportunity to learn some important fundamentals and its an income generator once completed
as for finding a school or gym or dojo, i understand wanting to train in a particular style - if jkd is "where your heart is at" then most of this other stuff is probably an annoyance - but the culture of where you train is more important than what you train in
some styles have higher and some lower percentages of what could be called "resistance culture" and my personal suggestion would be to look at whats close to you and see if there isnt a quality gym or dojo somewhere you could get to
as mentioned already, muay thai or just "kickboxing" and boxing and jiu jitsu and judo, or just submission grappling in general, (and now you have a lot of places that explicitly train "mma" which is more or less a blend of all of those) as well as some karate styles, like kyokushin are all examples of systems that produce real world competence in self defense, as well as offering all of the other general benefits of martial arts training like health and fitness and a sense of community
i almost want to say that any training is better than no training, but thats not always true
but any quality formal hands on training will be better than any distance training imo

Thanks OB1.
I wrestled from age 5 through high school and then trained in BJJ while training MT for a little over a year. I am certainly interested in the art and hold it in high regard. Great video. Thanks again.

So then, what is it about JKD that you feel the need to possess that another MA wouldnt give you?

OB1, I think everyone should learn to roll a little BJJ.
Khaos, it is not that I am 100% stuck on JKD, but that I would like to experience a wide range of arts and have heard some good things about JKDlessons.com. So I thought I'd spark up a conversation and perhaps gain some insight from a community I respect and trust. I'm also looking at other arts as well. I work out every morning and was hoping to add some MA training in the evenings after my son goes to sleep.
