as I was reading a bit more in the introduction section I found that some of the masters/ teachers are here in the states

You don't have to be situated in close proximity to your Teaching Master anyway...

Many Teaching Masters have Apprentices in other parts of the world.

I'm in the UK, and one of my Apprentices is also from the UK but the other is in the States. Before he moved to college he was about 12 hours behind me, but it wasn't really a problem, more of a minor inconvenience.

As long as you figure out a way of communicating effectively across the timezone, it's fine... :)
