Jedi clothing was created by
Hello

First of all I'd like to say that this jedi religion looks very interesting and I would love to be an apprentice one day.

But how does the clothing thing work?

Do we get a free robe when we become apprentices?

May the force be with you

Hello, Larswalker --

'Clothing' works the same way that clothing has always worked. There are no 'Jedi clothes'. Your current clothing is just fine.

It is not a robe that makes for a Jedi, just like carrying a Bible around doesn't make a Christian.

Discover the Jedi you are first, before deciding on the robe. You may discover that baskets, shorts and a tee-shirt turn out to be very practical 'Jedi' apparel.

Think "Utilitarian". Blend in with your surroundings. Blending in can be done by not blending in at all, or just wear the clothes you like to wear--even if it is a robe or cloak. here: http://aspapparel.com/Blank_Hooded-Ritual-Cloak.php or this: http://aspapparel.com/Blank_Hooded-Ritual-Robe.php . You can probably find a brown one at another site, but that site amuses me. There are shirts that quote some of the authors you will find in the Jedi Library!

As it's been said, nothin' special is required. However I am a bit of a crafty geek and when I was struck by this sudden idea, I just had to do it :D So I made what I call my "Everyday Jedi Robe" or maybe "Robes for the Everyday Jedi"? I donno, but it was fun to make either way!

And I really need to get pictures of this thing in the daylight haha but I was trying to show off my lightsabers to facebook friends while I was at it LOL

There's no required clothing as was mentioned....

However there is no rule against making or buying robes...I've made several and recently bought one from garbtheworld.com
