Our licensed ministers, in the United States have the same rights and powers of any priest, rabbi, minister etc. They may conduct weddings. Some states require registration and some do not. I am putting up a state by state list of requirements but always check with your county clerk and an attorney for the final word.

My appologies for the post above, accident.

I wanted to check if you had that state listing yet as to what the specific state by state regulations are on clergy and how we become officially certified. Thank you.

I guess my more broad interest is to what extent the capacity of reverend extends and the state by state regulations:-)

Post edited by: HesinRaca, at: 2007/03/23 16:53

The only time state regulations are involved is when a minister conducts a marriage.

That's it.

I am posting a list but it does not substitute for the advice of an attorney or your local county clerk.

Laws may change.

The best way I can say this in my own works is to use someone else's. Always check with an attorney or at least your county clerk. This is information and might change with court rulings and laws.

\"\"ministers must file their credentials with the county clerk \"\"\"

What does credentials entail? Is the Certificate of Ministry a complete credential? I know it seams odd I'd be so interested in this specific ceremony but I guess it is pretty interesting and I am curious, hope I don't drive anyone nuts, feel free to ignore me:-P

In most of the few states that require you file them the free pdf is all you need. It's our records that make it legal. A very few places require a current dated letter of good standing and if anyone need one we send it.

All the laws are in the state guide. We know that ID cards and badges are helpful when you are making a hospital or prison visit etc and you should be ready to show them with a state ID like a drivers license.

We will offer those soon as well as some other handy items.

It's fine to have business cards just wait until we get our trademark camera ready.
