Greetings temple, as I’m sure many of you have noticed, there have been several security alerts on discord over the past few days. Council and the temple security team have determined that current security measures no longer work. Council members have been doxxed. Threats have been made. Real world lives have been affected. Additionally we have received reports of multiple guests having multiple accounts which is a clear violation of our rules. For this reason, the following rules and procedures have been approved and implemented by the temple:

1. Any new comers to the temple will be required to show photo identification before an account or any access to the website will be granted.

2. The current temple discord server will be closed at midnight EST on Sunday Aug 25, 2024.

3. A new temple discord server has been built, with stricter security protocols 
​​​​​​          a. photo Id or a zoom with a moderator will be required for access to the server. You will only have to verify your identity once. If a moderator or an admin already knows that you are who you say you are, this step may be waived on a case by case basis. Note…if you have already submitted your id when joining the temple, this step is not required for you.
          b. The ability to invite others to the server, or send out a link to the server, has been restricted to the role of administrator. 
          c. The link to the server will no longer be available on the website, and a time sensitive link will be sent to the person by the membership affairs officer, or the intake officer.
          d. The availability of discord rooms has been shifted and sorted by rank, so you may not see as many chat areas as you are accustomed to seeing.
          e. Please contact Knight Tavi or Master Rosalyn to gain access to the new discord server.

4. the Ceremony channel will be locked down and un available to anyone after each ceremony is completed. Oaths made during promotion ceremonies require the use of personal information, and we will not allow that information to be used against our members.

TOTJO is committed to the safety not only of our members, but to the information they entrust us with while they are here. There is no length we won’t go to to ensure that we provide a protected place for you to learn, grow, and share a community with your fellow Jedi.

Bump……and…..I want to make it clear that while we do store your identifying documents (such as UD) and passport, as we always have, once your id verify what’s on your app, the id photo will be deleted, and we will not be storing them anywhere. This can also be done via zoom with an admin so that no picture is ever sent.
