Irar Dara

Greetings all! I swear I'm not coming at this from a pure cosplay perspective. I am genuinely interested in the ideas and engaging with this as a theoretical metaphysical system. Having said that the "Hoan Irar" name, as you probably guessed, is a character, and I've changed the name to "Irar Dara". Hoping to update it.

I like to think I'm pretty OG when it comes to Star Wars as I distinctly remember seeing it as a 6 year old. It's as close to an initiatory process as I've ever gone through.

I am working on a PhD in psychology and right now teach literacy remotely.

I am also hoping to start a business where I do birthday parties and such as a Jedi. Right now no one is offering me a $100 an hour to do anything else. Still working on putting it together and would love to find folks here interested in doing that with me. My Jedi costume showed up yesterday but was missing the cowled robe, so I am waiting to see if the replacement works. Taking a class on using a lightsaber and graduating from my current broomstick proxy around the middle of the month. Again, recognize this is not a cosplay group.

Have a book coming called "The Philosophy of Star Wars" which I am very eager to get. This started recently when I binged the movies again. One thing that struck me is the incredible optimism that gets expressed by the Jedi characters. The constant sense that something will turn up so long as we align with The Force. Optimism has never been my strong suit. It does make me think of the sermon "Hope is a terrible plan..."
