We love the hero...
We love following along, going on adventures, experiencing things we may never get to, with our heros in the books, movies, and stories we come across in our lives....
But what about the supporting cast?
Finding Nemo was one of the best animated movies I have ever seen... Im partial to clownfish for some reason, so go figure...;)
In case you have never seen it, "Finding Nemo" is an animated movie about a clownfish who finds himself on an unexpected adventure..
Stories focus on the heros, but without a good supporting cast, they wouldnt get very far...
In "Nemo", he meets a blue damsel fish named Dory who is quite loveable, and quite the character...
Whether it is Dory, in Nemo, or a volley ball and an island in Cast Away, the best stories have great supporting characters in them...
What about the supporting casts?
Well, remember, they are the heros in their life's journey...
In a movie with a group of heros, we get the "where are they now" words typed on the screen..
In the "Finding Nemo" story, Dory had a life both before, and after meeting Nemo....
A story she was following, an adventure she was having...
It is why, for a few of our most favorite supporting characters, the create these spinoffs...
"Finding Dory", "The Cleveland Show", "The Simpsons", pick an X-men story, lol... I could watch them all...
In the end, remember, everyone is a hero, living their "hero's adventure" around yours... The main stories that involve others as the main character...
You are merely a supporting cast...;)

Be positive...
Be supporting...

But this is why we need one another : support (not as food). When we are faced with difficult challenges, that 'supporting' rôle is as crucial as an air supply (or water supply, depending on one's repiratory apparatus ...)

We can win some, we fail in other respects, yet the pages turn and the game goes on just as the water flows in the ocean and Dory continues to follow the mantra of "Just keep swimming".
The sharks are doing their best to better themselves, and this is very much how we struggle to overcome our egoes, our misunderstanding of others and how humanity goes about learning. For it is through making mistakes, losing a friend else being laid off from one job only to move on with experience to something better that, in my mind, encourages me to search until I find my figurative "Nemo".
Be it the Self, success or simply a smile, I love both the story of Dory and that of the sharks, in addition to Crush the turtle and the fish stuck in the dentistry office. Being heroes and supporting characters of the universal story known as life is truly wonderful to behold :)
