that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.
Amen.

Thank you everyone for you kind words, thoughts, prayers, emails and all. My family and I are truly touched.
(Little secret... The Tribune left out all the details.... The 6pm services was the viewing and his funeral was on Tuesday, the 26th at 10am at our Church and then 1pm was the Military Honors at the VA National Cemetery.) After the 21 gun salute, Taps and the presentation of his flag, did the finality of all this come to pass....
Though it will be a tough time for us, I have faith that somehow things will work out for us. I miss him dearly and each day I miss him more. We had 27 years together and I can not extend to you how it feels to lose one that you have been with for so long. Now I have to prepare for a new chapter in my life. Like a Child just learning to take new steps will be how it is for me, or so it feels like.
Once again, Thank you all....
Bob, I love you and always will.... Until we are together again....

Footprints in the Sand
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he
was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from
his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand, one belonging to him
and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked
back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times
along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also
noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
\"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me
all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times
in my life there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand
why when I needed you most you would leave me.\"
The Lord replied,
\"My precious,
precious child, I love you
and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one
set of footprints in the sand, it was
then that I carried you.\"

This is one of my favorites as well. On Bob's Funeral Program this poem was on one of the pages...
Thank you all again....
