There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

Jestor, that truly was a wonderful video! I completely agree and it was a fantastic existential explanation behind morality as well as science!
Thank you
Maynoth, while some might watch those videos, spamming nearly 40 minutes of video in 3 separate posts doesn't really add anything to the conversation...
Certainly for myself who simply doesn't have the time to sit through lots of material. A text based summary would be a better way to approach this...

Maître Jestor --
How is it that you have not understood me with regard to 'opinions' and yet you can post this wonderful video which quotes (more or less) Edmund Husserl, and admonishes "naïf realisme" ?
This short vidéo is excellent ! Thank you ...

Alexandré, my friend..
How can we both watch the same video, and see different things?
I want you to know, I posted this with you, and our conversation in mind...
The "reality tunnels" the speaker is talking about, are our perceptions of the world...
The "reality tunnels", which are our perceptions are individual, and when our personal intelligence is mixed with our "reality tunnels", then we form our opinions...
And, the second we try to convey our internal understandings, we are expressing facts, as we see them, yet opinion as others see them...
I just rewatched it, and now, i await Zenchi's opinion...
The man made reference to "scientists have all the answers", and said something about our "show me" society...
WHich I thought were pretty accurate to a strict scientific mind...

We may be seeing different things because we're watching from different angles. Perspective ...
I'm flattered that a conversation we've been having on and off for a while has burst forth onto the forum, and that it inspired this ! As such, I am now watching for Zenchi's reply too, as well as the replies of others.
I suggested to Sajjad a little bit ago that we launch into a study of I-Ching (this was a consideration upon furthering my study of the Tao Te Ching, then I just sort of forgot to get back to it -- Thank you for reminding me !). It would be fun and enriching and could probably show us through our opinions.
If we form our opinions by adding our personal intelligence to our "reality tunnels" - which makes me wonder where our personal intelligence comes from if not somewhere else in the "reality tunnel" -, how can we trust our opinions at all ? Whereas before, I was on about fallacy (sorry everybody, that is out of a conversation we've been having for a while - I'll write a different post about fallacy, for it doesn't belong here), if we chuck this model based on quantum physics on top of it, then we've added 'uncertainty' to that even. Not a good case for opinions, Jestor.
The scientific method sort of loses something with the intervention of uncertainty also, as we can no longer, at least on the quantum level, say that this is and this is not. We can only talk about probabilities.
There's the problem with opinions. we don't like to think that what we think is only somewhere on a probability curve. We like to be right. As it were, there is only an uncertain probability that we might get it right sometimes ...
... and there's humility in a [strike]nut[/strike] electron shell.
