We are officially recognized as a Public Charity - a 501(c)3 organization. We'll be listed in the federal registry. Now I'll file for Texas exemption which will be automatic with the submission of the letter. This is history. The ruling is retroactive to the date I filed - October 3, 2015.
The Order is the first Jedi organization in the world to attain this.
Celebrate.

This is laying groundwork so we're ready for the future which could come any day now. Someone might donate who would not have otherwise. If we put some money in dividend paying stocks they can grow and grow tax free. Years down the line this can add up considerably. When we finally establish our first physical Temple there will be no property taxes. If I purchase something within the State of Texas for The Order, such as an ID Card maker, we won't pay sales tax on it. We're eligible to apply for grants for various purposes. These are hardly all the benefits. It would be a shame to miss an opportunity because we were not in the federal registry. We will start showing up there in four or five weeks but our recognition is retroactive to October 3, 2015.
