Certainly legit that religions form as a new 'group dynamic' ; slightly reworking existing principles, reimaging existing shared experiences, borrowing advantageous attributes.... all to make a better apple pie then the other mob. Its interesting to see so much shared from across religions and believe they all arose separately from the shared source be it inner or outer - but probably a bit niave.
The most simple iteration being the counter culture, the anti-it-ism.
Same probably goes for each of us on forming our beliefs, a bit of both perhaps.
