Cancer was a sad news, 10 or 20 years ago... These days they cure it... It's not worse than a cold, today... only the process is a bit longer..
If you need anything I can do for you, please just tell me...
Best wishes...

No, they dont cure it... It doesnt go away from what I understand it...
It just dies in place, or goes dormant...
The mass will always be there...
And, if they didnt kill it completely, it can continue to grow...
Or if it goes dormant, it can reanimate...
But thanks,
I know what you meant...
Thanks all...

I know what you meant too, I think, but you have to be careful what you say...
To say cancer is no worse than having a cold...
I should think every single person on this site has known someone who has died of cancer...I consider myself 'lucky' to have only had two deaths from cancer in my extended family...
It is true that it can be very treatable now, IF you discover it early enough...
But if it is not discovered until after it has spread, the outlook is not so good. Many people don't even find out that they have it until it is already too late to treat it
One day we will find a cure...and that day will be one of the most incredible days in medical history...

It is most diffiicult to remain balanced during a life's struggle such as cancer. It is aweful, and at times, painful. It is an unchosen passage. Such as most paths both good and bad. Although we cannot control the outcome we can control our reaction to the outcome. Acceptance may be one of the most difficult lessons. My best wishes are given to you and you family on your journey.

my stepdad had lung cancer,...if caught and treated in time, it's not the death sentence it once was...the hardest part is not the surgery or medications...it's the chemotherapy...it completely drains you of your own energy, this however can be countered by pushing yourself to stay active...you can't let it beat you down, your mindset plays a great role in how quickly and how well you recover...my stepdad recovered very well...he died from a heart attack caused by the medication avandia...not from the cancer (it was in remission for 5 years by the time he died)...don't focus on the idea of cancer, instead focus on the good times you can have afterwards, don't see these good times without the person, but see these good times with the person, smiling and laughing along with you all...
Warning: Spoiler!
There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

My father had cancer for quite sometime but ignored the pain. Luckily he wised up and went the doctor; found he had Bladder cancer and underwent surgery. Surgeries were between november-december 2011.
Luckily it was completely contained and now as far as we can tell with medical technology he is in remission.
Early detection is key! But cancer is far more serious then a cold or a flu, as my experience training for and working as a Certified Nursing Assistant had taught me while taking care of cancer patients. As well as research I did on bladder cancer after dads diagnosis.
If you need to talk or anything dont hesitate to contact me (or others at this temple).
Prayers and best wishes to you and your family in this trying time.

Sounds serious, my thoughts are with you all. Both my inlaws have had it recently. They both chose surgery and it seemed to work out ok.
