That is actually a scary thought...

We are the largest and most active Jedi site on the internet...
So, by us posting stuff, it gets more exposure...
And, could appear we are endorsing it...
We are not...
We have not read it...
We are not condeming it either...
We simply don't know it...
And given Opie's distaste for the religious side of the Jedi path..
It seems counterproductive to our mission and ideals...
On walk-about...

So, would you like to put forth an official cease and desist notice?
I plan on complying with any council decision. As ALWAYS. I can't do that unless I'm asked to something, though.
Like I mentioned earlier. I don't believe this falls under "advertisement". It's my opinion. If I were to make a suggestion to the council on how to handle things like this in the future:
Change the verbage in the FAQ to specify advertisement to include ANY links to offsite material that offers monetary exchange. Unfortunately, that would severely limit any offsite links. I know MANY sites that we link to all the time that accept donations (wikipedia.org being the most prominent, youtube being close behind). I didn't post with any intention to have people buy anything. It's not my website...

This is exactly the reason I posted it too, by the way.

I particularly like this statement:
"it should be a priority of all communities to be on the look out for material being presented to the public"
Opie being as "outspoken" as he is against jediism, i think it'd be best if totjo didn't help present his ideas to the public. Or help fund him through t-shirt sales.

Two things, just to be thorough on my part:
1. Consider asking the user to remove the links on their own first. Too much moderation = dictatorship in my opinion. Not good for my stomach.
2. Ignorance is not bliss.

I promise you Connor, ren and I go round and round about "freedom of speech", "people's rights", all that stuff...
We do not take it lightly, or frivolously ...
This thread, stood, the links stayed, im sure more than one person went there, I did...
I hope you see what we mean...

Just because I dont know any of the history, or politics, is this the conversation that people keep eluding to between Force realism and Jediism?
Appologies if im opening up a can of worms. Jestor, please delete if its an issue.

If you are interested in a Jedi politics history lesson, especially involving Opie. You may PM me. I'm sure any of the older members of the community could help you as well. It's kind of off-topic for this specific post, in my opinion.

2. Ignorance is not bliss.
1. there are limits in place preventing you from editing. Personally I am opposed to them.
2. Nothing to do with ignorance/knowledge. It's about not giving exposure to things we do not support, in this specific case, to things that are hostile to us.

1. True. Thanks for the reminder.
2. Personally, I don't agree with this methodology. But, I respect the council's decision on that.

Geez, can we subdivide the community some more?
Im assuming "kediism" is a typo? Or is this some crazy new thing?

You wouldn't advertise a work out program to a couch potato the same way you would to a professional runner. Just to be clear, that's completely unrelated to this post. I'm not trying to imply I was advertising. It was just on my mind since we've been talking about it.

Thank you, already on it.
Thank you Alethea, Connor's been very clear in his explaination of each.
