It looks like we need just a small round disk for opening this Stargate . I believe there could be something true about it.

Interesting.

Though to my eyes, it seems more like a carving in the rock, into which a structure of, say, wooden beams, or a certain framework, could be joined to... with slots and pins that would anchor the lumber structure solid to the rock.

Or even, a structure of rock, the pieces, blocks, or beams thereof, fitting into the carving, and being pin-lock anchored therein.

I like it when the article says "the structure undeniably resembles the Gate of the Sun at Tiahuanaco" but yet the images they show look nothing like the Peruvian Gate. This is what over-expectance of patterns results in. This is how conspiracy theories form and superstitions persist.

Why exactly is a three-year-old's drawing of a building, that would be two vertical lines connected on the upper side by a horizontal one and a small doorframe inside, not also alien-inspired? For all you know children could be from outer space! But of course we will only take into account primitive and vague and abstract shapes wherever they fit our pet theory and not wherever they occur.

Personally I am having trouble telling that the Peruvian Gate is anything more than a natural rock formation. With the Gate Of The Sun we have a rather unambiguous case, and we know that rocks form all kinds of shapes all of which are more or less equal to nature but some select few we choose to identify as special, because they resemble symbols or objects we had designed ourselves. Of course I am myself prone to that same bias, and the Peruvian Gate does, to me, too, look rather noteworthy, but aware of my biases I must withhold the conclusion that this is a magical device to visit distant worlds until such time as positive evidence indicating that conclusion can be recovered.

Better to leave questions unanswered than answers unquestioned

OMG, I thought the same thing! I'm like, really? Really?? HOW is that "undeniably" resemblant of the other?? Both are formed from rock and are square-ish? lol

I'd find articles like this a LOT easier to read, if they weren't always over-emphasizing everything... "We found a stone that is the same relative shape as another one - COULD THIS BE COINCIDENCE??" lol

Okay, now *I'm* over-ranting :P lol

But yeah, all kidding aside, I love archeology and stuff... it opens up the mind, usually ;)
