One more week until the semester starts! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE

14 years ago this morning I was not a father. 14 years ago tonight I was.

I am grateful for my sons, who teach me at least as much as I teach them these days.

Grateful to all my teachers, most recently my Maitre, for helping me to know how to be lost gracefully.

I do not always know where I am. I do not awlays know where I should be headed, much less how to get there. But I need not rush around in circles.

I can sit quietly until I figure something out. Or I can wander a bit and enjoy the scenery until things get clearer.

For possibility.

Knowing there isn't just one option makes me feel so much better when I feel myself having no direction.

Grateful for new days and for cheap 24h gyms.

I am grateful for people who do the hard work in service to others. Today, I am particularly grateful for firefighters who are risking their lives in 100+ degree heat to save houses from a massive and out of control wildfire. You are heroes.
