So far we've been lucky here in Manitoba, Canada. No cases of Coronavirus here. Yet. And even if there was, there's a strong likelihood I won't get it. I'm worried more about the regular flu strains as my immune system is quite compromised.

A few days ago, in Ukraine, one sick person was confirmed. Yesterday, quarantine was introduced throughout the country. Kindergartens, schools, universities do not work. Closed game rooms in shopping malls. You can not gather more than 60 people.
Do you know what is the worst? Someone specifically develops panic. On one of the very popular television channels, once every one and a half to two hours, the announcer says: "The epidemic. A deadly virus."

“The best estimates we have right now based on what limited data we have is that this is going to be ten to fifteen times worse than the worst seasonal flue year we see.”
“We conservatively estimate that this could require forty eight million hospitalizations with ninety-six million cases actually occurring. Over four hundred, eighty-thousand deaths over the next three to seven months”
“An alarming number of cases in the 40-something age range, horrible cases, so we need to stop thinking that this is only an old-person’s disease”
Age, smoking, and obesity are big risk factors.
Apparently the incubation period is four days and it has a doubling time of four days. Meaning if theres two cases, in four days there will be four cases. Four days later there will be eight cases. Four days later, sixteen cases.....from 500 to 1000 to 2000 to 4000...every four days.
“We’re handling this like its a corona virus blizzard, you, two or three days and it will be over. This is a corona virus winter, and we’re gonna have the next three months or more, sixth months or more”

Whole country under lockdown since yesterday, virus spreading exponentially and more and more deaths reported.
They closed all schools here yesterday so my wife and I (both teachers) are now working overtime to move all the lessons to Microsoft Teams etc.
